Abstract
Hybrid bioreactor models represent a promising opportunity to accelerate cell culture process development timelines and enable right-first-time batch manufacturing.
This work presents: i) a phase-appropriate deployment strategy of hybrid models during cell culture process lifecycle, and ii) the deployment of a Digital shadow technology to support right-first-time batch execution in a commercial manufacturing site. Digital infrastructure, change management and modelling strategy aspects are discussed based on lessons learned during early implementation at Sanofi.

Head of Process Modeling
Gabriele Bano serves as Head of Process Modelling at Sanofi, where he leads a global team of process modelers and data scientists spanning three countries — France, Germany, and the United States. His team supports a broad and diverse portfolio of biopharmaceuticals across key therapeutic areas including immunology, oncology, and rare diseases.
Gabriele and his team are responsible for the implementation of advanced modelling techniques designed to accelerate process development, scale-up, and the commercialization of manufacturing processes.
